We impact 8500 students in 19 WPS schools.
Schools in America are faced with increasing demands and diminishing resources. Rapid social change, increasing diversity, and demands for accountability characterize the education landscape. Schools are expected to change to meet new needs of society and the workplace. At the same time these schools have limited resources to apply to meet these new demands. Support from public sources is not likely to be sufficient to provide the resource base necessary to create and operate the schools of the future.
Colorado ranks 39th nationally among the 50 states, with per-pupil spending in public elementary and high schools averaging $9,500. That’s well behind the national per-pupil spending average of $11,762.
As a result of its more than 30 year history, the Foundation is the strategic fundraising partner for WPS. Together, we work to find and fund the highest impact investments.
