The Foundation supports Westminster Public Schools' strategic initiatives, prioritizing mitigating opportunity gaps that impact WPS students.
The Foundation has four primary focus areas:
- Post-secondary Success Initiative (scholarship program)
- Benevolent Fund
- The Performing Arts
- District Initiatives
We impact 8500 students in 21 schools.
Schools in America are faced with increasing demands and diminishing resources. Rapid social change, increasing diversity, and demands for accountability characterize the education landscape. Schools are expected to change to meet the new needs of society and the workplace. At the same time, these schools have limited resources to apply to meet these new demands. Support from public sources is not likely to be sufficient to provide the resource base necessary to create and operate future schools.
Colorado ranks 36th nationally among the 50 states, with per-pupil spending in public elementary and high schools averaging $10,000. That's well behind the national per-pupil spending average of $13,494.
As a result of its more than 35-year history, the Foundation is the strategic fundraising partner for WPS. Together, we work to find and fund the highest-impact investments.
